John Thomas Porter, 86 of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Pasadena, MD, died on November 12, 2007 ath the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. Mr. Porter served in the United States Army during WWII; he was a Staff Sergeant where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
He was a 34th degree Mason and a member of Baltimore Boumi Shrine and "Legion of Honor". Born on October 9, 1921 in Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John and Lillian Porter. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, the alte Jessie Olive Porter. He is survived by his children, Kathy Baker, Ethel Porter, Kirby Porter, Eric Porter and Warren Porter, one brother, Forbes Porter, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2007 from 10AM to 12PM in the Brinsfield-Echols funeral home, where a Funeral Service will be held at 12PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice. |
