Carol Jean Collins, 62, of Charlotte Hall, MD, died January 29, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. Born February 11, 1950 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Johnson William Russell and the late Mary Elizabeth Spalding Russell.

Carol worked with The Department of Transportation as a secretary prior to her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, cards and she loved cooking and baking.

She was predeceased by her parents, Johnson William Russell and Mary Elizabeth Spalding Russell, her husband, David Roger Collins Sr., and her sister, June Marie Scheungrab.

Carol is survived by her son: David Roger Collins, Jr. (Melissa); her daughter: Tracy Lynn Johnson (Christopher); sisters: Margaret Ann "Peggy" Quade (Thomas); Mary Rose "Rosie" Henderson; Judy Elizabeth "Bessie" Hill (Pat); and her grandchildren: Gavin Collins, Lauren Johnson, and Raleigh Johnson.

The family will receive friends for Carol's Life Celebration on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 6135 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20604

Pallbearers will be: David R. Collins Jr., Pat "Rusty" Hill, Paul Connelly, Billy Connelly, Danny Connelly, and Timmy Quade.
