![]() James Gilbert "Bunky" Cooper of Newburg, MD died on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his residence. He was 56 years old.
Bunky was a chef for 40 plus years with Captain Johns Restaurant in Cobb Island, MD and a member of Shiloh Methodist Church and the Masons. He was a graduate of La Plata High School where he excelled in basketball, enjoyed playing pool, and was a master of cooking seafood. He was known as a very loving person and a hard worker. Son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Cooper and the late Margaret Ann Jupiter Cooper. Predeceased by his parents and his son: Jermaine Cooper. Survived by five brothers: Theodore (Victoria) Cooper of Ft. Washington, MD, Lloyd (Gloria) Cooper of Newburg, MD, Robert (Barbara) Cooper of La Plata, MD, William Cooper of Adelphi, MD, and Earl (Barbara Jean) Cooper of Waldorf, MD; and four sisters: Betty Harvey of Bowie, MD, Joeann (Timothy) Oliver of Waldorf, MD, Joan (Henry) Cole of Waldorf, MD, and Geraldine Cooper of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation: Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 9AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646).
