![]() William Richard Dexter of Waldorf, MD died on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Morningside House in Waldorf, MD. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Dexter was a communications technician with AT&T and then to the Department of Defense and finally with Lucent Technologies. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Corporal from 1952-1954. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Griffith Council. He enjoyed woodworking, walking, small engine repair and fixing old cars, and an avid Redskin fan. He most enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Son of the late John Ira Dexter and the late Mary Ann Campion Dexter. Predeceased by his parents and a late brother, John Neal Dexter. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara A. Dexter; two sons: Joseph I. Dexter of Waldorf, MD and William R. (Terry) Dexter, Jr. of California, MD; one daughter: Kathleen M. (Jerry) Golba of Waldorf, MD; and four grandchildren: Joseph, Kimberly, Justin, and Sarah Kate. Visitation: Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 10AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church (100 Village Street, Waldorf, MD 20602). Clergy: Fr. Alain Colliou. Pallbearers: Joseph Dexter, William Dexter, Joey Dexter, Jerry Golba, Justin Golba, and Carl Kolberg. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Army Honor Guard. Interment: Private.
