![]() Britten W (Wood) Eaker, Age 87, passed peacefully on November 12, 2007 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, in Charlotte Hall Maryland.
Born August 26, 1920 in New Bethlehem PA, Mr. Eaker was the son of the late Frederick and Ella (Weaver) Eaker. Mr. Eaker was married in 1950 to Margarete A. (Kalbe) Eaker who preceded him in death in 1997. Mr. Eaker met his wife in Germany following WWII and together they made their home in Falls Church, VA. They moved to Scotland, MD in 1969 when Mr. Eaker retired as a U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant. He later entered civil service and for 10 years worked as a painter at the Public Works Department at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Mr. Eaker was a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. In addition to his wife, Mr. Eaker is survived by two children, Marie A. Madden of White Plains, MD, John E. Eaker and wife Ramona, of Mechanicsville, MD, three grandsons, Christopher, Jared, Logan, and his granddaughter, Marcia. Mr. Eaker has one surviving sister Ella Faye Weidner, of Fort Myers, FL. In addition to his sister, Mr. Eaker was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 3 to 4pm in the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD, where a Memorial Service will be held at 4PM. Inturnment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. |
