Mr. Thompson served in the United States Marine Corp for 23 years. He retired as a captain. He also worked for Southern Maryland Electric Company for 26 years. He was a member of the VFW in Bel Alton. He loved gardening.

He was the son of Charles Thompson and Renette Farley Thompson who predeceased him.
