Stella "Louise" Edelen, 83 of Waldorf died January 6, 2013 at Civista Medical Center, LaPlata, Maryland. Born April 29, 1929 in Malcolm.

She was the daughter of the late George and the late Marie Bowman Edelen. She was the sister of Richard Edelen of Mechanicsville, Alneta Edelen also of Mechanicsville. She was also the aunt of Thelma Edelen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Edelen, sister-in-law, Thelma Louise Edelen and brother, Bernard Eugene "Mickey" Edelen.

Since she was 24 she lived with the late Lloyd and Dorothy Dixon and their children. She grew to love and be raised with them - Deceased, Lloyd George, Jr. "Dickie", Tina and her husband, Rick Turner and Bussie and his wife, Mary and Alice and her husband, Ernie Tennison - as her own family.

Louise was a woman with many accomplishments from frying chicken in the iron skillet to being a loyal companion to the Dixon family for almost 60 years. She was their "Other Mother" and helped to raise all the Dixon children.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, the slots at Rod N Reel and to nestle in her favorite chair, to work on search a word puzzles, watch Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and Jeporady. In her later years she met and enjoyed her extended family at Starecare Partners and Fenwick Landing Day Care Center. Louise enjoyed surrounding herself with her family and many friends.

Visitation will be on January 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, January 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown. Burial will take place next to Lloyd and Dorothy Dixon, brother Bernard Eugene "Mickey" Edelen at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf. Pallbearers will be "Bussie Dixon, Rick Turner, Ernie Tennison, Edward S. Kenney, Richard A. Ludke, Jr., Vaughn Cardellino, David Mason, Chandra Alade, honorary, Robert conrad.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Charles County.
