Heather Jean Long, 55, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland passed away at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD on January 5, 2013. She was born July 12, 1957 at Bolling AFB, MD to the late Doris (Saulmon) Nichols and the late Raymond Nichols.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping, cooking, and entertaining family and friends. She worked in various medical offices in Southern Maryland and accomplished domestic engineer.

Heather is survived by her loving husband, Donald E. Long; her son, Eric M. Long (Katie M. Snider); her brother, Doug E. Nichols; her sister in-law, Gail Nichols; and her nieces, Lindsey and Courtney Nichols.

Family and friends will be received for Heather's Memorial Life Celebration Gathering on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
