Gladys Marie Murray 90 of La Plata, Md. died on December 21, 2012 at the Charles County Nursing home in La Plata, Md. She was born on August 17, 1922 to the late Peter Murphy and Sadie Murphy in Charles County, Md. She is also predeceased by her husband Thomas Murray, daughter Linda Murray, brothers Joseph "Jimmy", Robert and Aloysius Murphy, and her sister Martina Hewitt.

She is survived her daughter Loretta Hardisty and her husband Jim of La Plata, Md., grandson Clayton Hardisty of Texas, Sister-in-laws Lorraine Murphy of Dentsville, Md. and Rita Murphy of Dentsville, Md., she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Charles County Antique and Arts. She graduated from La Plata High School. Her and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary together and she loved genealogy and antiques. She worked at C & P Telephone Company and La Plata TV then she stayed home to raise her children Linda and Loretta.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm with prayers at 7pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata, Md. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 27th 10am at the Sacred Heart Church La Plata, Md. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery.
