Barbara Jean Wells of Newburg, Maryland, died on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata. She was 71 years old. Born on October 29, 1941 in Wicomico, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Bertie Beatrice and the late Andrew Augustus Williams.

Mrs. Wells was a waitress who worked at different restaurants including Earl's Truck Stop and the Crystal Door in Bel Alton. She also was a homemaker and mom who enjoyed working in her flower garden and playing bingo and cards. She loved being with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Bonnie Andrew, Allen Wells, Wanda Higgins, Gary Wells and his wife Laura; her sister Patsy Lacey; her brothers Joseph A. Williams and Jerry Williams; her grandchildren Lorien Wells, Ashley Woolridge, Heather Campbell, Jessica Higgins, Josh Andrew; her great grandchildren Wayne Woolridge, Cerria Woolridge, Ashlynn Woolridge, Branden Woolridge, Landen Woolridge and Colton Campbell; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Pallbearers: Allen Bell, Francis Lacey, Summy Lacey, Gary Williams, Joe Williams, Dennis Behan. Interment at 11AM Thursday, December 13, 2012 St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Newport, Charlotte Hall, Maryland (procession to leave funeral home at 10:15AM).
