![]() Affectionately known as "Ga," Mrs. Gibson passed after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the owner of Southern Police Supply, Inc. in Waldorf, MD for 20 years.
She loved travelling the world and particularly spending Thanksgiving with her family in Aruba. She enjoyed sewing beautiful clothes for her grandchildren and baking cakes from scratch. She was the most loving and caring mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, and friend to so many. She is the daughter of the late John Joseph Curling, Sr. and the late Mary Morris Curling of Kensington, MD. Also predeceased by one daughter, Theresa Patricia Gibson. She is survived by her husband of nearly a half century, Robert Lee Gibson, Sr.; one son, Joseph "Buddy" (Kimberly) Gibson of La Plata, MD; two daughters, Debora (Matthew) Mitchell of La Plata, MD and Michelle (Frank) Jones of Swan Point, MD; two brothers, Thomas E. (Dolores) Curling of Manassas, VA and John J. (Nancy) Curling of Gaithersburg, MD; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas Robey, Haley Spalding, Julia Jones, Maxwell and Aidan Mitchell, Stephen Mancuso and Nicholas, Travis, John, and Mark Gibson; also survived by her close friend, Pam Padgett of VA. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646). Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11AM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church (8855 Chapel Point Rd., Port Tobacco, MD 20677) with clergy, Fr. Greg Coan. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery in Port Tobacco, MD. Pallbearers will be Sheriff Rex Coffey, M/CPL David Fromme, Capt. Lynn, Sgt. Scott Willis, Officer Manning Rivera, and Cpl. Patrick McCue. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service. |
