![]() Datcher, Reginald "Reggie" (Age 79) of Nanjemoy, MD.
Reginald (Reggie) Datcher departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Reginald was born on August 17, 1933 in Nanjemoy, Maryland to the late Sydney and Mary Datcher. Reginald was baptized at an early age at Mount Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend. C. R. Alexander. He attended Charles County public schools and served this nation in the United States Army. Reginald was a dedicated worker at the Naval Ordinance Station until his retirement. He received numerous recognitions for his outstanding work. After retirement, he was a school bus and chartered bus driver. He had a special way with children on his buses because they all respected him. Reginald was well-known as the sharpest and best-dressed man in the community. He was a fun-loving, trash talking, and shooting the breeze kind of guy. He loved fast cars and kept all of his cars super clean. He loved putting his hands in your face and naturally telling joke after joke. He was a great cook, traveled throughout the country, and he could play a good game of poker and pool. Sleeping was his favorite past-time, which he could do for days. Of course, Reginald will be dearly remembered for his kindheartedness, good nature, and friendliness. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Frank, Sydney, Milton, William, Rudolph, Chester and sister Florence precede him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Isadore; son, Reginald Ramael Datcher; daughter, Shelly Posey; grandchild, Breonna Posey; brothers, Phillip (Bertha), Charles (Adalaide), Winston (Arnetta), Gerald (Mildred), James (Mickey) Thomas (Rev. Ruby); sisters, Geraldine Swann, Marie Young (Reverend Rodney); sisters-in-law, Beverly Posey, Esylene (William) Franklin; brothers-in-law, Paul, William, Francis (Shirley), Archie (Diane) Posey and a host of other relatives and friends, especially Mrs. Maggie Keys, and Dinks Bus Service. His viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service 12:00 noon on November 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, Maryland.
