John G. Thomasson, Jr. died November 5, 2012 at his home in Waldorf, Maryland at the age of 68.

He worked at the U.S. Botanical Gardens in Washington, D.C. where he retired after 37 and a half years. He enjoyed landscaping, painting, making pound cakes for the holidays. He especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Bandit and Shelby.

Born March 23, 1944 in Washington, D.C.. He was the son of the late John G. Thomasson, Sr. and Maude V. Phillips.

Survivors include: sisters, Betty Windsor, Barbara Brown "Bobbie", Terry Bennett and Donna Starsbury, brothers: Joseph "Joe" Thomasson and Robert Thomasson, daughter: Ann Marie (Thomasson) Ford and husband Brett, son: Christopher M. Thomasson and wife Rhonda, grandchildren: Randy Haley, Jr,, Kevin Thomasson, Xavier Thomasson and Zackariah Thomasson, great-granddaughter: Skylar Haley.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the Crossroads Apostolic Church, 10725 Willette Crossing Road, White Plains, Maryland where funeral service will be at 12:00 noon. Rev. Curtis Eaby will officiate.
