![]() Mary Adele Wheeler of La Plata, MD died on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was 71 years old.
Mrs. Wheeler was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She liked crafts, playing cards, cooking, bingo, gospel singing, and being with family and friends. She was raised by her grandparents (Daniel and Lessie Cole in Newport, MD). Daughter of the late Thomas Arthur Cooper and the late Mary Gertrude Cole Cooper. Predeceased by her parents; her late husband, Joseph Edward Wheeler; one late son, Tyrone Wheeler; three late daughters, Joanie Wheeler, Shirley Wheeler, and Linda Wheeler Wills; one late brother, Jerome Cooper; and two late sisters, Joyce Winters and Peggy Cooper Swann. Survived by three sons, Terry (Jackie) Wheeler of Waldorf, MD, Keith Wheeler of Waldorf, MD, and Eric Wheeler of Newburg, MD; two daughters, Yvonne (David) Swann of Marbury, MD and Gail Wheeler of Lexington Park, MD; eight brothers, William Cooper of Indian Head, MD, Joseph Cooper of Bryans Road, MD, Thomas Cooper of Ft. Washington, MD, Michael Cooper of La Plata, MD, Ricky Cooper of Indian Head, MD, Francis Cooper of Ft. Washington, MD, Paul Cooper of Ft. Washington, MD, and Tyrone Cooper of La Plata, MD; and four sisters, Hazel Woodland of Waldorf, MD, Jacqueline Riley of Waldorf, MD, Delonda Cooper of Waldorf, MD, and Betty Lyles of La Plata, MD. Also survived by 39 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: Monday, November 5, 2012 from 9AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata, MD. Clergy: Fr. John Reutemann. Interment: Sacred Heart Church cemetery. Pallbearers: Paul, Tyrone, Francis, and Michael Cooper Jr., Charles Woodland Jr., and Terry Sherell. Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Brown and Thomas Thompson.
