Mary Goldsmith was a lifetime resident of Hughesville, MD and a member St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown. She worked at the deli in Safeway in La Plata until 2001. She was a leader with the Girl Scouts and 4-H Club with her children and a member of a bowling league. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning vegetables. She found great pleasure in spending time with her children and watching them grow over the years.

She is the daughter of the late Thomas Irvin Jameson and the late Marion Rebecca Rutherford. She is also predeceased by one son, Robert Samuel "Bobby" Goldsmith, Jr.; four brothers, James Sylvester Jameson, William Jameson, Harry Jameson, and Thomas Jameson

She is survived by her husband, Robert Samuel "Dee" Goldsmith, Sr.; two sons, Thomas LeRoy "Tommy" (Rhonda) Goldsmith, Sr. of Oregon, Timothy DeSales "Tim" (Sherry) Goldsmith, Sr. of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Mary Jeanette "Jeannie" (Robert) Fowler of Inman, SC, Tina Marie (Ray) Newhart of Charlotte Hall, MD; one sister-in-law, Linda Goldsmith; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Her Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 2- 4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646). Her Funeral Service will be on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy will be Fr. Robert Golas. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County (2505 Davis Rd., Waldorf, MD 20603).
