James Connors, 85, of Waldorf, MD, passed away on October 2, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Born December 6, 1926 in Old Forge, PA, he was the son of the late Michael Joseph Connors and the late Martha Williams Connors.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a ship fitter during World War II. Later James became a plumber with Local Union 5 - Plumbers & Gasfitters of Washington, DC. He retired after 32 years of service. Jim, as he was known, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and cheering for his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.

Jim was a member of the VFW Post #8674, the American Legion Post #238.

In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Dorothy Leah Connors; and his son, James Michael Connors.

James is survived by his son, Daniel Elliott Connors and daughter-in-law Kathryn Connors of Charlotte Hall, MD; his two daughters, Martha Jean Johnson and son-in-law Joseph Johnson of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Colleen Leah Morris of Jacksonville, FL; his 9 grandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Lindsay Connors, Jaime Connors, James D. Connors, Michael Greig, Brianna Greig, Adam Greig, Samantha Smith, and Joshua Smith; his 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received for James' Life Celebration on Wednesday October 10, 2012 from 4-7 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Legion Service will follow at 7:00 PM. There will be a funeral service on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 12pm at the funeral home. Rev. James Chance will officiate. Interment will follow to Maryland Veteran Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
