![]() Oscar George Kelsea, Jr., 82 of Lexington Park, MD formerly of Colebrook, NH died on October 2, 2012 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD. Born August 11, 1930 in Colebrook, NH, he was the son of the late Gleigh W. and Oscar G. Kelsea, Sr.
Mr. Kelsea is survived by his wife Elizabeth G. Kelsea of Lexington Park, MD whom he married on December 12, 1980 in Leonardtown, MD, children; Brenda (Timothy) Pipes of Tampa, FL, Bernard (Judith) Owens of Lexington Park, MD, Patricia (Tony) Cocimano of Lexington Park, MD, Thomas (Donna) Owens of Valley Lee, MD, Phillip Owens of Sarasota, FL, Jeanne Owens of Prague, OK, Susan Sullivan of Lexington Park, MD, and Helen (Louis) Hurst of SC, brother Charles Kelsea of Sun City, FL, 18 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Kelsea was preceded in death by 1 child Burleigh Kelsea. Mr. Kelsea attended Colebrook Academy; he moved to St. Mary's county in 1970, George served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1973earning the National Defense Medal, six Good Conduct Medals/Commendations, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation, he retired after 24 years of service, after retiring George worked as a Public Safety Officer for St. Mary's College of Maryland, retiring after 20 years. Mr. Kelsea was a member of the Thomas J. Shryock Masonic Lodge #223. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM in the Mattingley Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Antonio Cocimano, III, Adrian Kraus, Thomas Owens, Jr., Andrew Owens, Antonio Cocimano, and Ronald Barnes.
