Mary Ethel Farrell, 94, of Newburg, MD passed away on September 26, 2012 at the St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown, MD. Born on June 21, 1918 to the late Zachary Mattingly and Margurite Gibbons Mattingly in Ft. Foote, MD.

Mary is also predeceased by her husband; Joseph Arthur Farrell, Son; Joseph A. "Hoppy" Farrell, Jr., Son-In-Law; Jimmy Grusholt and 3 Brothers, and 1 Sister.

Mary is survived by her Son; David "Button" Farrell (Renee). Daughters; Mary Ann Grusholt, Joan "Peter" Lucini (Bob), and Judy Moe (Gordon). Daughter-In-Law; Dianne Grant. Mary is also survived by 11 grandchildren. 8 Great-Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Mary was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, fishing, and going crabbing.

A viewing will take place on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm officiated by Rev. Fr. John F. Reutemann at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., in La Plata. A graveside service with interment will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery in Issue, MD. The Rev. Fr. Gregory S. Coan will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charles County Humane Society, or a charity of one's choice.
