![]() Elizabeth "Faye" (Cross) Oliver, 88, of Hughesville, MD, passed away at her home on September 17, 2012, with her loving family by her side. Born August 7, 1924, in Aquasco, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jennings C. Cross and the late Emma M. (Cantor) Cross.
She worked for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. for several years before building a home in Hughesville, MD. Faye then worked for the old Hughesville Bank and finally for Southern Maryland Electric Company. She started her position at Southern Maryland Electric as front desk clerk and moved up to head Insurance Specialist. Faye retired from Southern Maryland Electric in 1983. She enjoyed yard work, especially tending to her azaleas. She also loved country music, dancing, and always loved to try a new recipe. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Busey (Charles Busey, Sr.) of Hughesville, MD; her granddaughter, Kelly Archer (John Archer) of Baltimore, MD; her two grandsons, Brian Roberts of Alexandria, VA and Chuck Busey, Jr. (Cindy Busey) of Hughesville, MD; her 5 great grandchildren, Lauren, Harris, Parker, Kyle, and Starr; her brothers, Jennings Cross, Jr., and Ralph Cross; and her sister, Mattie Virginia Clodfelter. In addition to her parents, Faye is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Ray Oliver. Family will receive friends for Faye's Life Celebration on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6-8PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. There will be a Funeral Service on Friday, September 21, 2012, 11:00AM at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 17400 Aquasco Road, Brandywine, MD 20613. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Pallbearers will be Mike Cross, Mike Clodfelter, Brian Roberts, Chuck Busey, Jr., Patty Morgan, and John Archer. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 238, 6225 Brandywine Road, Hughesville, MD 20637. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home. |
