![]() Leonard Thomas Russo, Sr. of Waldorf, MD died on Monday, September 10, 2012 at his residence. He was 81 years old.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and founder and former Post Commander of American Legion Post 293 in Waldorf, MD. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a self-employed general construction contractor for 40 plus years. He was the owner/entrepreneur of Leonardo's Italian Restaurant in Ellicott City, MD. Recently he was part of the St. Charles Mall Walkers. He loved golfing and walking in the ocean in Miami Beach, FL. Son of the late Joseph and Rose Russo. Predeceased by his parents; his son Leslie Russo; and his brothers and sisters Grace Fegley, Sam Russell, Sonny Russo, and Josie Russo. Survived by two daughters Bobbi Jeane (Johnny) Mar of Riverside, CA and Nicole Lynn (Charles) Linton of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons Tommy (Patty) Russo, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and Lenny V. Russo of La Plata, MD; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Also survived by Mary Jeane Russo and Dorothy Russo. Memorial Service: Friday, September 14, 2012 at 4PM at the American Legion Post in Waldorf, MD. Interment: Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10AM at the MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
