Arthur Jeffery Hicks of Waldorf, MD died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at University of MD Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was 53 years old.

Jeffery attended Charles County Public Schools. He was a great handyman. His hobbies were yard work, gardening (loved to plant flowers), listening to music, and telling jokes. Jeffery was a true Redskin fan.

Son of the late Leo Wilfred Hicks and the late Alice Louise Washington-Hicks.

Predeceased by his parents; his daughter Michelle Dorsey; his sisters Alice Fenwick and Hilda Knot; and his brothers Leo, Earl, Maurice, and Leroy Hicks Survived by two sons Authur Jeffery Hicks Jr. and Devonte Williams; five grandchildren Jonathon, Jocelyn, Justin, Jasmine, and Jazonta Hicks; one great grandchild Nora Isszal Hicks; five brothers Timothy, Garfield, Randy, Pat, and Wayne Hicks; and four sisters Gloria Swann, Joyce Washington, Lola Mae Hicks, and Sheila Hicks. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jeffery was cared for by a very special and devoted friend Brenda Coates that he called Mommy.

Visitation: Wednesday, September 5, 2012 from 10AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church (13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617) Clergy: Fr. Rory Conley. Interment: Church Cemetery.
