![]() On Monday, August 27, 2012, Odell Wilson, Sr. of Waldorf, Maryland quietly entered into eternal life at the Fort Washington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Odell Wilson, Sr. born April 20, 1925, one of five siblings to Lawyer and Gertrude Wilson slipped into eternal rest on Monday, August 27, 2012. He moved to the Washington DC area where he joined the Army. Odell met and married his beloved wife Laura who preceded him in death, and from this union two children were born Odell Jr. and Pamela. He worked as a Librarian for the Department of Interior for 35 years, a certified mechanic, along with owning his own cabs, which he used to service the Metropolitan area for over 50 years. He was referred to as "O" by family and loved ones. He loved to play his numbers, fish, eat crabs, garden, and cook for his grandchildren while telling wartime stories from his service years. But, his major and greatest achievement was his family and making them happy. O always said "That's why I work, so I can make my family happy and do for them". He did for so many years, especially when caring for his wife Laura who became ill at such a young age, but never once did he complain while caring for her. But, the wind beneath his feet was his grandchildren and the happiness it brought him to be able to care for and cherish them. He was so delighted that he could take part in their lives to help mold them and give them support and a firm foundation. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Odell Jr., daughter, Pamela, son-in-law, Robert Price, Nine Grandchildren Odell (Zack), Dominic, De-Carlos, Laura, Danielle, Charles, Artis, Shawntae and Tasha. Six Great-grandchildren, Naomi, Amilya, John, Garry Jr., Raymond, Donnell, and cherish friend LuLu Robinson as well a host of family and friends.
