Leslie "Sam" Ann MacKenzie, 55, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on August 26, 2012 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, PA. Her loving husband, Kirk had been by her side for the past 11 weeks. Sam was born on December 22, 1956 to the late Adda Elizabeth (Hogan) Henry and the late Lester Walter Henry in Washington, DC.

Sam grew up in Potomac Heights, MD and Indian Head, where she attended Lackey High School. Later Sam moved to Golden Beach in Charlotte Hall, MD. She married Kirk on September 2, 2006. Sam loved gardening & flowers, surf fishing, snorkeling, and Interior Decorating.

Sam is survived by her loving husband of 6 years, Kirk Douglas MacKenzie; her children, Leslie Ann Gayan, II., Moniqua C. Hawkins, and Michael D. MacKenzie; her grandchildren, Geoffry, Shawna and Bradly; her four sisters, Patricia Oswald, Gail Louise Henson, Joann Sunder, and Katherine Mae Taylor; her in laws, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald L. MacKenzie; and Kirk's brother, Scott A. MacKenzie and Kirk's sister, Terry L. MacKenzie.

Family and friends will be received for Sam's Life Celebration on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Service will start at 7:00PM, here at the funeral home. There will be a private, family Inurnment.
