![]() John Joseph Messick of Waldorf, MD died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Messick was an auto recovery specialist with several companies in the Washington, DC region for over 15 years. Prior to his auto work he was a representative with Standard Coffee Services. He played on many pool leagues, especially Huntt's Tavern where he was their number one player. He loved playing pitch card games. He was an avid Redskin and Orioles fan and most enjoyed being surrounded by his family. Son of the late Joseph Benjamin Messick and the late Muriel Frances Staub Messick. Predeceased by his parents; one late sister Patricia Ann Long. Survived by his long-time companion Diane Beverley Cox; four sons Anthony, Richard, John Jr., and Thomas (Crystal) Messick; two daughters Gini Marie Messick and Tina Maria Marks; and two brothers Ernest E. (Sue) Messick, Sr., and Raymond F. (Cheryl) Messick. Also survived by six grandchildren including Cammie Marks (his special care-giver in the last days of his life) and one great-grandchild. Visitation: Monday, August 13, 2012 from 9AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646).
