Marian Juanita Radtke, 82, of Pomfret, died August 6, 2012 at her residence. Born on January 1, 1930 in Washington, DC. She was the daughter of the late James W.Vaughn and Mattie M. Shanholtz.

Mary was a waitress at the Skyline Restaurant in Morningside, MD for many years and also worked at the Wal-Mart in Waldorf, MD. She was a member of La Plata United Methodist Church. She loved to garden and work in her yard. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her long time friend, Beulah Winkler.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Radtke, stepdaughter, Carole A. Henley and grandson, Donald A. Henley. Survived by her stepson and his wife, Harvey and Betsy Radtke; granddaughters; Phyllis and her husband Timmy Coombs, Diane and her husband Donnie Major, Julie and her husband Kevin Robbins and Linda Wood and her husband Charlie Hayden; beloved grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in La Plata on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 5 - 8 pm and funeral services will be on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 9:30am at La Plata United Methodist Church. The Pastor Bruce Jones will officiate. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD.
