Marjorie Louise Hanson of Pomfret, Maryland passed away on July 31, 2012. She was 85. Born January 1, 1927 in Pisgah, Maryland, she was the daughter of James Henry Bowie and Eva Natalie Bowie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John D. Hanson, Sr., daughter Janet Leigh Hanson, and son Joseph Allen Hanson; brothers, Hermie, Pat, Calvin, Lloyd, Clyde and sister Natalie.

She is survived by three loving sisters; her daughters, Beverly Upperman of Delaware, Joyce Fillmore of Massachusetts, Julie Hanson Bonini of Virginia; sons, John D. Hanson, Jr. o f Port Tobacco, Jerry Hanson of Pomfret and Jeffrey Hanson of Pomfret; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home on Sunday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 6 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. Donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph's Parish, Pomfret, MD.
