![]() James B. Kinnaman, "Jim", 79, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Mease Countryside Hospital (Clearwater, Florida) after a long illness. Jim was born on February 23, 1933 to the late Suzanne "Katie" (Smith) Kinnaman of Pennsylvania and the late Thomas Bryan Kinnaman of Piscataway, Maryland.
Jim graduated from Gwynn Park High School, class of 1951 and soon after, joined the U.S. Army. Upon his return from Korea, he met the love of his life and wife of 56 years. They went on to have two children. He joined the P.G. County Police Department in 1958 and retired after 20 years of service. Jim spent much of his life being involved with farming. He had an immense love for thoroughbred racing and would always consider it a good day if he got to watch the ponies. Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Daugherty) Kinnaman, children, James Bryan Kinnaman, Jr. of Waldorf, MD, and Denise Kinnaman McLean of Somerset, KY; grandchildren, Jason Paul McLean, Katie-Jo "Kate" Kinnaman McLean and Emily Anne McLean. Family will receive friends at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622 on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 9:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. A service celebrating Jim's life will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Richard Cassidy presiding. Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery Accokeek, MD, 600 Farmington Road West Accokeek, MD 20607 Memorial contributions can be made in Jim's memory to the American Heart Association, 425 N. Charles Street Baltimore, MD 21201 Arrangements in Florida are being made by Dobies Funeral Home, Tarpon Springs, Florida and Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. |
