Mr. Allen was a retired detective sgt. with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC for 26 years. Immediately following his retirement he went to work for the Charles County Sheriff's Department as Training Director of the Southern MD Criminal Justice Academy.

He was a member of Lifestream Nazarene Church in Waldorf, MD, St. Charles Sportsman Club, NRA, and Retired Police (AORP). He loved hunting, fishing, collecting coins, and was a huge Redskin fan which he tried out for in his younger years.

Son of the late Steve Dempsey Allen and the late Elsie Stevenson Allen. Also predeceased by his late daughter, Diane R. Allen; and a late brother, David Allen

Survived by his wife of 51 years Geraldine N. Allen; one daughter, Stephanie L. Allen of Waldorf, MD; one brother, Thomas Gale (Annette) Allen of LA; two grandchildren, Steve Allen Leonard and Robert Hunter Rhea Leonard.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6- 8PM at Middleton Hall in Waldorf, MD. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10AM at Middleton Hall. Rev. Mark Roberson will officiate. His Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers will be David Smith, Richard Gray, Greg Nottingham, Zachary Nottingham, Randy Nottingham, and Jason Carzone. Metropolitan Police Honor Guard will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
