Mary Margaret Jenkins of La Plata, MD died on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Genesis La Plata Center. She was 84 years old. Daughter of the late John Francis Jenkins and the late Katie Catherine Wills Jenkins.

Mary was a self-employed domestic worker for many years and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, pottery and painting. She dedicated her life to her family and our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Predeceased by her parents; two late brothers, John F. Jenkins, Jr., and Thomas Jenkins; and one late sister Geneva Jenkins Jones.

Survived by two daughters, Mary C. (John) Adams of Waldorf, MD and Anna Marie Jenkins of La Plata, MD; three sisters, Mamie Georgianna Jenkins of La Plata, MD, Alice Cecelia (Louis) Jenkins Mason of Bel Alton, MD and Dorothy Jenkins (Joseph) Harvey of La Plata, MD; one brother-in-law Thomas Jones; two grandchildren, Robert and Edward Perry; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 9AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646) Clergy: Fr. Thomas Crowley. Interment: At Sacred Heart Church Cemetery at a later date.
