![]() Gregory "Greg" McManus, 50, of White Plains, MD, died on Monday, June 11, 2012. Greg was born October 24, 1961 in Washington, DC. His parents, Captain (USN) Thomas H. and Margaret McManus, preceded him in death.
Greg graduated from Friendly High School in Ft. Washington, MD (Class of 1980) and attended Prince George's Community College. He was a lifelong resident of Maryland. Greg and his family are members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD where he was a member of the folk group at the 12:30PM Sunday Mass. An avid fisherman, Greg loved to spend hours on the water fishing for trout and bass. Greg never met a stranger and was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back; the truest kind of best friend. He was also of the Blacksmith's Guild of the Potomac. Since its inception 35 years ago, Greg was a fixture at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Greg is survived by his wife, Laura Pollock McManus, daughter Alora Danann; siblings Diane Mangel of Mechanicsville, MD, Maureen Wroblewski and her husband Walter of Liberty, PA, and Thomas P. McManus of North Potomac, MD. He is also survived by twenty-one nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM with Prayer Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass will be offered on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 beginning at 11AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, MD 20675 with Father Mark Smith officiating.
