Richard (Bud) Morris Abell Sr, passed away on June 8, 2012, at the age of 85. Born January 16, 1927 in Bechville, Maryland.

Preceded in death by his father Frank Tompkins Abell, mother Sarah Edith Abell and loving wife Doris Mae Abell.

Richard was a self-employed locksmith, a devoted Baptist, attended First Baptist Church of Waldorf. Enjoyed fishing, fan of the Washington Redskins, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a veteran in the United States Army for 2 years.

He is survived by his sons Darryl F. Abell of Waldorf, Richard Morris Jr. and wife Nancy Abell of Charlotte Hall, sister Lydia W. Unkle of St. Inigoes. Grandsons Michael, Joseph, and Jason Abell. Granddaughter Dawn Garcia, and great-granddaughter Leah Garcia.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, MD. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 @ 9:30 a.m., Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, MD. Burial will take place at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery Cheltenham, MD.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to First Baptist Church in Waldorf.
