Ethel Marie Eastburn, 84 of Bryans Road passed away on May 18, 2012 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Born April 15, 1928 in Suitland, MD she was the daughter of the late John A Purdy and Mary E. Purdy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ethel is survived by her husband; of 65 years Robert G. Eastburn, Son; David Eastburn and his wife Cheryl of La Plata, Daughter; Debbie Brough and her husband John of Indian Head, Grandchildren; Amy Eastburn Gallo, Rob Brough, and Jeb Brough, Great Grandchildren; Nathan, Kyle, Jeb, and Adam, her Brother; John Purdy and his wife Jane and many nieces and nephews.

Ethel was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head. She was a founding member of the Bryans Road Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and for 49 years she participated in many activities, most recently buying and helping prepare the food for the Bingo games at the Fire Hall. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the ocean, reading, and crafts.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St Mary's Star of the Sea Church in Indian Head, MD. The Rev. Fr. Robert Golas will officiate. Inurnment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
