Lance was a self-employed business owner of Auspice Mobile. He was an avid motorcyclist and hunter. Former member of SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). He was very musically inclined, able to play many instruments.

He was a devoted father, husband, brother, and uncle.

Son of the living Donald Edward Skiles, Jr., and the late Linda E. Cleaver Skiles. He is predeceased by his mother; and his late brother, Dwayne Alan Skiles. He is survived by his father; his wife of 8 years, Nishaya Tervoort Skiles; one son, Xavier J. Skiles of Port Tobacco, MD; three daughters, Breanna L. Mead of Springfield, VA, Lanaya P. Skiles and Savanna L. Skiles, both of Port Tobacco, MD; one sister, Lisa L. Stone of White Plains, MD; a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Teresa Stancliff of Port Tobacco, MD; three nephews, Dylan M. Skiles and Dalton M. Skiles, and Harrison K. Stancliff; and four nieces, Danielle and Jessica Stone, Reese Skiles, and Samantha Stancliff.

Mr. Skiles will have a viewing on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 4-6PM with funeral service at 6PM at New Life Wesleyan Church (9690 Shepherd's Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy will be Rev. B. J. Treadway and Rev. Bruce Jones. His interment will be held by his family at a later date.
