Robert "Bobby" Allen Swann, 65, of Newburg, MD, died April 26, 2012 at Civista Medical Center. Born February 22, 1947 in La Plata, MD, he was the son of Wilson Edward Swann and Dorothy Agnes Wise Swann.

Bobby was raised with a love for the water and being outdoors. Bobby was retired from the U.S. Architect of the Capitol, and was a Veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War. Bobby was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time at the beach, playing putt-putt golf and cook-outs. He liked NASCAR racing, the Redskins, and enjoyed gardening and working on trucks. Special loves were his wife of 33 years, his family and his dogs, Maggie, Jasper and Baby.

Predeceased by his parents, Bobby is survived by his wife, Sheila Ruth Swann; daughters, Dena M. Carr of Brandywine, MD, Lisa M. Vieira of Mechanicsville, MD and Karen Ann Swann; son-in-laws Andy Carr and Mike Vieira; brothers, Edward Lee Swann and Richard Swann; sisters, Diane Hardesty, Sandra Ferguson, Theresa Simpson and Sharon Macaranas; three grandchildren, A.J. Carr, Jr. (Booga Bear), Brianna Nicole Carr (B-Beeps)and Charlie Carr (Choo Choo), as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends for Robert's Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 3, 2012, 11:00AM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 15848 Rock Point Road, Issue, MD 20645. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.

Pallbearers will be William (A.J.) Carr Jr., Charlie Carr, Aaron Tarbox, Robert Hardesty, Eddie Hardesty, Brandon Simpson, and Kevin Ferguson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Carr and Mike Vieira.
