Robert Edward "Bob"/"Bobby" McDonald of La Plata, Maryland, died on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence. He was 48 years old. Born on August 25, 1963 in Washington, DC he was the son of David McDonald of Swan Point, MD and the late Mary Elizabeth Moyle McDonald.

Bobby was a heating and air conditioning technician for over 33 years who owned and operated McDonald Mechanical Services. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and his dogs Phoenix, Lady and Xena. A 14 year resident of La Plata, Bobby was a member of Lifestream Church of the Nazarene in Waldorf, MD. He was someone that anyone could call at any time and he would be there for them whether it was to fix their heating, air conditioning, or just because they needed a friend. The best way to describe Bobby is to say that he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his mother.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his beloved wife Kelly P. McDonald; loving sons Matthew, Christopher and Noah McDonald of La Plata; brother Mike McDonald of Nanjemoy, MD; sisters Terri Hungerford of Swan Point, MD and Eileen Aquaviva and her husband Ralph of Swan Point, MD.

Visitation on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 3PM to 4:30PM at New Life (Garage) Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646. Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 4:30PM at New Life (Garage) Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646 with Reverend Steve Merki and Reverend Mike Hilson officiating. A Private Interment at Wesleyan Memorial Gardens, La Plata, will be held at a later date.
