![]() Mary Christine Stasch, 87, of Mechanicsville, MD, died March 25, 2012 at her home under Hospice care. Born July 17, 1924 in Charlotte Hall, MD, she was the daughter of Douglas Peter Williams and Pearl Virgie Buckler Williams.
Mary attended and graduated from Hughesville High School. Fondly known as "MaMa" and "Sister" by many, Mary was a homemaker and farmer her entire life, although she owned and operated a video store for several years. Mary was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau and was a nominee in "Maryland's Most Beautiful People" contest sponsored by the Governor's Office. Her entire life was devoted to raising many nieces and nephews, transporting the Amish Community to and from many places, tending to the sick members of her family and visiting the sick and those who couldn't travel often. Mary loved to play Keno Horse Racing and enjoyed vegetable gardening and preparing many delicious Sunday dinners for everyone. Her crab feasts were memorable. Mary was predeceased by her parents; husband, Otto Herman Stasch; son, Stephen Allen Stasch (Stevie); brothers, Roger, Andrew and Paul Williams; two cousins, Peter and Paul Stallman who helped her with the farm duties after the death of her husband. She is survived by her son, Robert William "Bobby" Stasch of Charlotte Hall, MD; daughter, Sonja Joan Stasch Veneziani (Dan) of Charlotte Hall, MD; two grandchildren, GregVeneziani and John Veneziani (Courtney); two adoptive grandchildren, Tammy and Robert Bassford. The family will receive friends for Mary's Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. Prayers will be held at 7:00p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:00A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary's excellent caretakers of 3 years - Lena Gardiner, Jennifer Branham-Pilkerton, Christina Buckler and Kathy Higgs.
