Lawrence Douglas Nevitt of Mechanicsville, MD died on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at his residence. He was 61 years old.

Mr. Nevitt was a professional truck driver for 40 plus years, 20 of those years were with Allied Trailer and eh was a member of the Waldorf Jaycees. He loved landscaping, gardening, collecting model cars, and telling stories. He most loved being with family and was always helping others.

Son of the late Arthur Preston Nevitt and the late Martha Jeanette King Nevitt

Predeceased by his parents.

Survived by his wife of 17 years Sharon Kay Atchison Nevitt; three sons, Douglas Nevitt of La Plata, MD, Daniel (Mary) Coffey of Dillwyn, VA, and Wayne (Kellie) Palmer of Charlotte Hall, MD; two daughters, Samantha (Sean) Nevitt of La Plata, MD and Sherry Palmer of Waldorf, MD; two brothers, William "Sonny" Nevitt of Mechanicsville, MD and Richard Nevitt of Clearwater, FL; and one sister, Mary Terry of Iowa. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friday, March 16, 2012 from 4-6PM with Funeral Service at 6PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Clergy: Rev. Mike Beiber. Interment: By family at a later date.
