![]() Mary Katharine Estep, 79, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away at her home on March 12, 2012. Born August 23, 1932 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Harry Gough and the late Julia Katharine Thompson.
Mary K. attended Waldorf School and graduated from La Plata High School. At 16, she was doing the bookkeeping for the family's excavating business. She was actively working as Office Manager for Harry Gough. For a number of years, she also worked for H.H. Hawkins. She was a member of the College of Regents and a past Sr. Regent of the Mechanicsville Women of the Moose, and a member of Friends of Old Waldorf School. She volunteered and provided support for St. Mary's School and Church programs, especially for bingo. Mary K. also enjoyed reading, gardening and gatherings with family and friends. Aside from her parents, Mary K. was predeceased by her son, James E. Estep and her sister, Hazel V. Cramer. Mary K. is survived by her loving husband, Albert Victor Estep; her 4 children, Deborah L. Knott (Dennis Bellevou) of Mechanicsville, MD, Diane L. Bustin (David) of Huntingtown, MD, Christopher A. Estep (Susan) of La Plata, MD, and Michael J. Estep (Stacey) of Port Republic, MD; her daughter-in-law, Darlene R. Stickel of Pomfret, MD; her sister, Dorothy M. Estep (James L.) of Waldorf, MD; her brother, Leon H. Gough (Judy) of Waldorf, MD; her 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Friday March 16, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, with prayers at 7:00PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. There will be a Mass at 10:00AM on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, MD 20617. Interment will immediately follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Chris Estep, Michael Estep, David Bustin, Keith Bustin, Dennis Bellevou and Brian Sheckells.
