Calvin "Cal" Coolidge Gardner, 88, of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on March 10, 2012 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. He was born in Washington, DC on December 4, 1923.

Cal was the son of the late Edward Thomas Gardner and the late Mary Elizabeth Vanlandingham.

He enjoyed playing cards and checkers. Cal always had a kind word for everyone, and will be missed.

Aside from his parents, Cal was predeceased by his two brothers, Warren Gardner and Edward Gardner; and his three sisters, Janie Middleton, Mary Gardner, and Elsie Marie Smith.

Cal is survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 12:30PM, at Dent Chapel (near Charlotte Hall Veteran's Home) in Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 2:00PM, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
