Janice Violette Crowley, 75, of Valley Lee, MD died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was born December 13, 1936 in Newburyport, MA to David Violette and Frances Goodridge Violette.

She will be remembered for her generous heart and giving nature. Janice was a homemaker and enjoyed spending her time with her children And grandchildren. Always an animal lover, Janice spent her retirement In Valley Lee, Md. looking after her Tonkinese cats, filling Hummingbird feeders, and caring for the neighborhood wildlife. Janice was also an avid letter writer and spent many hours keeping up with her lifelong best friend Marie Blessington Sevigny of Chelmsford, MA. Most of her time, however, was used to keep her husband on the straight and narrow.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Jack Crowley of Valley Lee, MD; daughter, Sandra L. Crowley, and granddaughter Lila M. Teeters of Salisbury, MA; son, David P. Crowley and daughter-in-law, Annette (Colella) Crowley, and three grandchildren: Rebecca E. Crowley, Alexander P. Crowley, and Jackson D. Crowley of Foxboro, MA.

Janice's life will be celebrated with a private memorial in Amesbury, MA, where she will be returned to the family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD. 20650. The loving staff of this hospice made Janice's last days calm and peaceful.
