Walter "Wally" Wallace Tapscott, 59, of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Laurel, MD, passed away on March 5, 2012 at Charlotte Hall Veteran's Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. He was born in Washington, DC on November 7, 1952. Wally was the son of the late Samuel Leon Tapscott and Rose Elizabeth (Reardon) Day.

He loved sports, with favorite teams, the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles. Wally also enjoyed collecting baseball cards and coins, and the music of Elvis Presley.

Aside from his father, Wally was predeceased by his brother, Forest Wayne Tapscott.

Wally is survived by his mother, Rose Elizabeth (Reardon) Day; his sister, Rose Elizabeth Cordell "Little Rose"; his niece, Christina Leann Farrari; his aunt and uncles, Lula May and Bob Chaney, Margaret Marie Kissinger; his 1st cousins, Claude and Susie Brooke, and Dale V. Guyer; his 2nd cousin, Dianna Brooke; and many other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends for a Viewing on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Service will take place Saturday, March 10, 2012, here at Brinsfield-Echols, Charlotte Hall, MD at 4:00PM. Interment will be on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 1:00PM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
