Carroll, Betty L. (Age 72) of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

Betty L. Carroll, age 72, departed this life and entered into a home of eternal peace on March 1, 2012. Betty was born in Grayton, Maryland on February 13, 1940 to the late Samuel and Anne (Ross) Johnson.

She was educated in the Charles County Public Schools. Betty was united in marriage to Norman James Carroll on September 6, 1961. Last September they celebrated 50 Commendable years together. From this union they were blessed with three children; Betheina, Norman Brett and Leslie.

After 20 years of employment with Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland, Betty retired to help with the raising of her great-grandchildren. Betty enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family. She enjoyed gospel music and was an avid Redskins fan and watched each game faithfully. She enjoyed being with friends, especially her close friends, Rosie Watts, Irene Swann, Catherine Tibbs, Blondie Tibbs, Thelma Holton and her special nephew, Rex Carroll known as (Key Pie).

Betty was preceded in death by her two sons; Norman Brett and Leslie Carroll; five brothers, Russell, Jefferson, Herman, Jerome and James; and two sisters, Maude and Lyla.

Her fondest memories will be remembered by her husband, Norman James Carroll; one daughter, Betheina Carroll (Stanley); two grandchildren, Derond and Derwin Carroll; three great-grandchildren, Jayquan Knott, Lamar and Zaki Carroll; two brothers, Floyd (Helen) and Shelton Johnson; four sisters, Estelle (Harold) Swann, Thelma Johnson, Gloria Johnson and Evelyn Keys; brothers-in-law, Bernard (Shirley) and Adolph Carroll; sisters-in-law, Iretha Heard, Isadore Chisley, Clystie Ann Lee, Vivian (Lionel) Dent and Mable (Herman) Keys and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 7th 10am until time of service 11am at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Nanjemoy, MD. Interment Church Cemetery.
