On Saturday, February 25, 2012, Paul B. Ratcliffe, 73, passed away at his home in La Plata. He was the youngest son of Helen Smith Ratcliffe and Louis Johnson Ratcliffe of Washington D.C. Paul was a resident of La Plata, and formerly of Washington D.C.

Paul enjoyed Bowling, and watching the Washington Redskins, as well as always watching the ESPN Sports Channel.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn M. Ratcliffe, daughter; Kristina Cooksey and husband, John (Kent) Cooksey. Son; Paul L. Ratcliffe and wife, Judi Ratcliffe. Affectionately known as BobPop, he is survived by five grandchildren; Joshua and Jacob Cooksey, Hannah, Zachary, and Carly Ratcliffe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers; James R. Ratcliffe and Louis J. Ratcliffe.

Pallbearers will include Joshua and Jacob Cooksey, Zachary Ratcliffe, Nicholas and Joseph Moore, James Ratcliffe, David Ross, and Robert Wood. Honorary pallbearers include Edward Moore, Michael Moore, and James Dotoli.

A life celebration will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., La Plata. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10 am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Robert P. Buchmeier officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton.
