Mr. Sturgill was a Planner Estimator for over 10 years with the Office of Naval Intelligence (U.S. Government) and a former member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. He was a 1980 graduate of La Plata High School who enjoyed working on cars, physical fitness, wrestling, and being in the outdoors.

Son of the living John C. Sturgill, Sr., and the late Donna Jean Buckler Sturgill.

Predeceased by his mother.

Survived by his father, John C. Sturgill, Sr. of SC; his wife of 20 years, Kimberly A. Sturgill of Waldorf, MD; one daughter, Hannah Marie Sturgill of Waldorf, MD; and one brother, Kenneth J. Sturgill of Yorktown, VA.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 5-8PM with Funeral Service at 6:15PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Clergy is Rev. Mark Roberson. Interment at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery in Waldorf, MD on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:30AM. Pallbearers are Kenneth Sturgill, Christopher Tibbs.
