Miriam F. Hevey of La Plata, MD died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Prince George's General Hospital in Cheverly, MD. She was 79 years old. Born on February 19, 1932 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Molly Ballen and Sol Freedman.

Mrs. Hevey worked for the U. S. Government, Department of the Navy as an Administrative Court Clerk until her retirement. She was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ed Freedman.

Mrs. Hevey is survived by her beloved husband Robert H. Hevey; devoted children Karen and her husband Peter Kinch of Bedford, MA, Carol and her husband John Jenkins of King George, VA, Beverly and her husband Nick Valltos of Dunkirk, MD and Andrea Miller of Hollywood, MD; grandmother of John, Megan, Molly, Sarah, Amanda, Aaron, Samantha and Hannah.

Visitation on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 5PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Ave., La Plata, MD. Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Quantico Marine Base Chapel in Quantico, VA beginning at 9:45AM. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
