William Valentine James, Jr., 80, of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away on February 7, 2012. Bill was born in Washington, DC on December 12, 1931.

He was the son of the late William Valentine James, Sr., and the late Therle A. James.

Bill served in the Army during the Korean War. He later became a Marine Dealer at Southeast Marine Sales in Camp Springs, Maryland. He belonged to the Lions Club in Camp Springs, enjoyed farming and cattle, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Aside from his parents, Bill is predeceased by his sister, Betty Burt.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, June James; his 4 daughters, Judith Lynn James (Daniel Molloy), Deborah Lee Matthews, Susan Diane McConkey (Milton), and Cathy Jo Edgar (Richard); his brother Robert Spencer James; and his 10 grandchildren, Billy Molloy, Katie Molloy, Danny Molloy, Judith June "JJ" Molloy, Kelli Queen, Sean Matthews, Kelsey McConkey, Casey McConkey, Richard Edgar, and LeAnne Edgar.

All services will be private and are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD.
