Anny Marcelle Aufrere Capers, daughter of Henry and Simone Aufrere, was born on November 30, 1939 in Chateauroux, France. Beloved wife of the late Clarence Earl Capers, Anny gave birth to their son, the late Stephen Erick Capers on October 5, 1958. Later, Anny, with her family, came to the United States to make a home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Anny Capers was trained as a nurse and later in life, she became a French tutor. Widowed at the age of 33, Anny continued her devotion for her only son, Stephen, and her community, lovingly coined "Cool Mom" by the youths. Anny became a grandmother of two, and a great-grandmother of four. She continued to enlarge her brood of "children" with a multitude of cats and dogs she saved from the streets and abusive homes. On October 23, 2004, Anny outlived her son, Stephen Erick Capers; which grieved her greatly. Anny loved going for walks with her pets, collecting antiques, and spending time with her family. Her love for family extended to her in-laws, especially "Mom McLean" (Ruth McLean), Cynthia M. Whiting, and "Barn-Barn" (Laverne Shaw). Anny lived out the remainder of her days in the loving care of her daughter-in-law and granddaughters, and with extra special care given by her oldest great-granddaughter Nonyea. On Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, 2007 Anny left this life for one eternal at the Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, Maryland. She leaves to mourn her passing but cherish fond memories, her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Fay Capers, her grandchildren, April Faye Capers and Desiree Victoria McLean-Capers, her adopted grandson, Jerry Capers, her great-grandchildren, Nonyea Medaysha Capers, Stephen Erick Capers II, Jonah Raymond Richardson II, and Bianca Kylani Richardson, her beloved dog, Fefe, and her grand-dog Trigger Capers. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many other cherished relatives and friends. Her Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007 from 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Her Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20604. |
