Marchia Jessica LaOrma Weaver Ratliff of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Genesis La Plata Center in La Plata, MD. She was 73 years old. Born on April 15, 1938 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Dorothea Williams Weaver and the late Charles Amiss Weaver.

Mrs. Ratliff worked as an airlines reservationist for Pan Am Worldwide Airlines. A graduate from the University of Denver, she was a member of the Teamster's Union, Girl Scout Troop Leader, produced Mache Presents Show Troupe, a licensed Miss America judge and a ballet dancer. She enjoyed music, horses, including English riding, etching, arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her two dogs, Mindert and Miguel.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald E. Ratliff; her children Charles A. Weaver and his wife Burnita of FL, Jeannine "Nina" Risley and her husband Roger of PA; grandchildren Charles A. Weaver Jr., Crystal A. Weaver, Robert W. Risley; great grandchildren Charles A. Weaver III and Connor A. Weaver; also survived by numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 beginning at 10:30AM at the Good Shepherd Church 305 E. Smallwood Drive in Waldorf, MD 20602 (on the web at www.gsumc.com) with the Reverend Steve Larsen officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
