Harry Lee Williams, Sr., 88, of La Plata, MD, died on December 21, 2011 at Washington Hospital Center. He was born on October 4, 1923 in Chinquapin, NC

A World War II Veteran, Harry worked at Southern Railroad, Penn Central and retired from Amtrak. Interests included football and NASCAR. Harry enjoyed working outside in his yard, riding his tractor and listening to music. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Everett Williams; his sons, Harry Lee Williams, Jr. (Dee) and Chuck Williams (Kirsten); his daughter, Lori A. Goodman (Dennis); his brothers, Alois Williams and John Williams; his sisters, Mary Harper and Joyce Taylor; his 4 grandchildren, Mike Williams, Jennifer Montoya, Jessica Goodman, and Tara Goodman; and his 3 great grandchildren, Kaylin Montoya, Ariah Montoya, and Andrew Lee Williams.

The family will receive friends for a Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Hughesville Baptist Church, 8505 Leonardtown Road, Hughesville, MD 20637. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Hughesville Baptist Church. Interment will be at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623, on Thursday December 29, 2011 at 10:00AM.
