Dorothy L. "Dot" Bladen, 67, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 after a long illness. She was born in Pomonkey and lived in Marshall Hall until she and her husband Joseph "Buddy" Bladen relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1990.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Vickers and Tina Bladen, grandsons, Jason Payne, Joseph Vickers, Ernest Bladen, and Jason Pool and one sister, Gloria Pace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Eveyln Welch, her husband, Joseph "Buddy" Bladen, brothers, Allen "Sonny" Welch, Luther "Lou" Welch, and sisters, Evelyn "Dee" Horne and Janet Bowie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, The Hadlow Center for Caring, 4226 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
